Gravel Rides

Don't leave your cross, gravel, and/or mountain bike at home!  We've added some killer rides for all you gravel fanatics.

Roanoke is central to many miles of unpaved roads and the common denominator for linking many of these routes together is the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway National Park.

With the G (gravel) routes riders can expect 50-75 mile routes with up to half of these being on unpaved roads. Plan on climbing between 6000-8000 feet per route.  Detailed cue sheets (paper/digital) will be provided.

Riders can significantly increase the percentage of dirt to pavement on several routes by driving 30 minutes from the hotel to a starting point in the George Washington-Jefferson National Forest just east of Roanoke.  As with the paved A and B routes, riders need to be self sufficient carrying their own food/hydration/repair supplies.

Don't leave your big tired bicycle at home!
